Great Pyramid Pictorial Overview

The Great Pyramid is a prophetic book in stone.

There have been many contributors to our understanding of the Great Pyramid. The following are but a few you may hear about.

700 BC Prophet Isaiah

Isaiah 19:19, 20: In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the center of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD near her border. It will be a sign and a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt. 

The correct interpretation of “pillar” is monument according to Adam Rutherford.

440 BC Herodotus-Historian/Geographer

Herodotus said that the Pyramid was still covered with highly polished limestone with joints so fine they could scarcely be seen. Tompkins, Secrets of the Great Pyramid, pg.2.

He also said that Khufu was not buried in the Pyramid.-Rutherford, Pyramidology, Vol. I, pg, 21

The casing stones acted as gigantic mirrors reflecting beams of light that could be seen for many miles around. Rutherford, Pyramidology, pg. 28.

24 BC Strabo-Geographer

Strabo described a door on the north face. You could not see it once it was closed, and its location was forgotten about in the early Christian centuries. Tompkins, Secrets of the Great Pyramid, pg.3.

66 AD Josephus (joe-see-fuss)-Priest/Historian

Josephus wrote that Adam’s teachings were put into a stone monument to keep them safe from a catastrophy of fire and another one of water.

“They also were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order.

And that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon Adam’s prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars* the one of brick, the other of stone: they inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the pillar of brick should be destroyed by the flood, the pillar [monument] of stone might remain, and exhibit those discoveries to mankind…Now this remains in the land of Siriad [Egypt] to this day.”

820 AD Caliph Al Mamoun

Caliph of Islam (caliph = emperor, monarch, sultan-thesaurus.com)

Caliph sounds like “kay-leaf” or “Calif” as in California or even “Kay-lif”

There are two main sects of Islam: Sunni and Shi’a.

Sunni leaders were called caliphs.

Shi’a leaders were called imams.

Al Mamun‘s entry

Al Mamun and his men searched the north face for the hidden Pyramid entry for days before deciding to just burrow right into it. They heated the rocks to red hot, then poured on cold vinegar to crack them. After that, they used battering rams to knock out the pieces.

They were about to give up when they heard a muffled sound of something falling off to their left, so they changed the direction of their bore and found the Ascending Passageway.

They eventually made their way all through the inside of the Pyramid finding nothing except the empty Coffer Stone. Tompkins, Secrets of the Great Pyramid, pgs. 5-17

Other Arab Histories

An Arabic historian after al-Ma’mun named Zaman reported that the Great Pyramid was inscribed with…

…”the heavenly spheres,

…the figures representing the stars and their cycles;

…together with the history and chronicle of time past,

…of that which is to come, and every future event.”

Masoudi c. 896–956 (Cited from the Arabic manuscript of Akhbar al-Zaman, c. 940-1140; MS. Bruce 28) Masoudi indicated that his information was from a previous Coptic history.

1680s Sir Isaac Newton-Physicist and Mathematician

In order to validate his theory of gravity, Newton needed an estimate of the Earth’s size and weight.

He began studying the pyramids in the 1680s because he had heard that the ancient Greeks successfully measured Earth’s circumference based on an Egyptian unit of measure.

Thus he became interested in the Sacred Cubit of about 25 inches as it was a unit of measurement used in the Great Pyramid.

1859 John Taylor-Publisher/Writer/Founder of Pyramidology

John Taylor…used Newton’s conclusions concerning the “sacred cubit” to define a unit of measure called the “pyramid inch.”

Taylor was also…

…the first to claim that the Pyramid was divinely inspired,

…contained a revelation and

…was built not by the Egyptians, but instead by the Hebrews,

…pointing to Biblical passages (Is. 19: 19–20; Job 38: 5–7) to support his theories.-Wikipedia

1864 Piazzi Smyth-Astronomer Royal of Scotland

Smyth [,following Taylor’s ideas, took his own measurements and] claimed that the pyramid inch was a God-given measure handed down through the centuries from the time of Shem (Noah’s Son), and that the architects of the Pyramid could only have been directed by the hand of God.-Wikipedia

1865 Robert Menzies

Menzies said that the passages were constructed according to a chronological scale of an inch to a year so that measuring passageway distances would give dates as in the picture below. From http://www.gizapyramid.com/pyr.htm

1883 Flinders Petrie-Egyptologist

*Even though many of Petrie’s measurements were the same as Smyth’s, he disagreed with Smyth’s pyramid inch/cubit idea. (Davidson would come along later and reconcile those differences.)

Petrie found 25-inch cubits from Khufu’s time elsewhere.

1924 David Davidson-Structural Engineer

Davidson set out to disprove pyramidology but later converted after reconciling Petrie’s findings with Smyth’s…-Wikipedia

*Writes of ancient Egyptian texts similar to the Arab histories describing the prophetic nature of the Great Pyramid:

“The ancient Egyptian texts represent that a Divine Revelation in such form (structural) exists in the Great Pyramid of Gizeh”. And, “The literary traditions of the ancient Egyptians definitely claim that the Great Pyramid’s Revelation consisted of a statement of prophecy given in geometrical and astronomical terms.” pg. xvi/3

1924 Edgar Brothers-Archaeologists

*The Edgars discovered the Christ Angle which would amount to a geometric prophecy for the birth of Jesus Christ.

*They noticed that the angle of the passageway at the beginning of Grand Gallery matched the angle on a map that would lead straight to Bethlehem-Edgar, Great Pyramid Passages, Vol. III, pg. 63.

1957 Rutherford-Author

*Provided highly regarded measurements for the Pyramid.-Lemesurier, The Great Pyramid Decoded, pg. 326.

2013 Timothy Lamb-Author

*Writes that the main reason the pyramidologists failed was that they were using a one-inch to a 30-day month starting at the Great Step.

*For example, in the pic below the Step height of 36 inches would give you 3 years in the Christian calendar but only about 2 years in the Baha’i calendar.

1963 Dr. Jensen-Chiropractic Physician

Unknown to Christian pyramidologists, there was another way to look at the chronological timeline.

Among other things, Dr. Jensen brought in the idea of an inch to a 19-day Baha’i month starting at the Step which revived the dead time scale and located the prophecies for the Bab and Baha’u’llah in the Great Pyramid.
