Shufflin’ along the tracks, soul unfreed,
Grumblin’, “If You’re there, prove it to me!”
–
Oh God, rescue me;
Show You’re there in a secret sea.
Oh Guide, lay out a trail;
So well made, I cannot fail.
Gold timers, a hooded mate,
A flowered lady waves me awake.
–
Oh Friend, answer me;
In dreams and lights, only I can see.
Oh Sight, black stars on a light.
Summer path, day not night.
Awed by a shroud through which I can see,
Yet I’m lookin’ down at playground feet.
–
Oh God, rescue me;
Show You’re there in a secret sea.
Oh Guide, lay out a trail;
So well made, I cannot fail.
I pick a place; he makes us light.
We flash over mountains of great height.
–
Oh Friend, answer me;
In dreams and lights, only I can see.
Oh Sight, black stars on a light.
Summer path, day not night.
