Introduction
The point of this post is to reveal how new revelations from God are initially rejected due to the people placing so much importance on the worldly greatness of their particular prophet from the past that they overlook the fact that God will always be sending updated and relevant guidance.

Abdu’l-Baha on the Problem of Dawning Points
“…the nations have been directed to the dawning points of the Sun of Reality, each to a particular rising place from which the light of religion has become manifest; but after a time the dawning point has become the object of worship instead of the Sun itself, which is ever one Sun and stationary in the heavens of the divine Will.”
Abdu’l-Baha, The Promulgation of Universal Peace (ebook).
Stuck in the Mud
People get so hung up on the worldly greatness of their prophet that they forget there is the One True God behind them all who always sends us guidance. When the updated operating system, so to speak, shows up it is quickly rejected.
Who can ever be better than the man who parted the Red Sea?
Who can ever be better than one considered to be the Son of God himself?
Who can ever be better than the Seal of the Prophets? He is the last!
Each religion seems to gravitate to a point where there is no escape from where the people are to a new and updated revelation. It seems to be a process that can take hundreds of years and may have to do with trying to convince an unbelieving world of the value of the religion in question. Over time, the prophet in question becomes larger than anyone or anything could ever be.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the Jewish clergy has a long list of things God must satisfy before they’ll accept anyone as their promised messiah. John the Baptist and Jesus, the Christ didn’t measure up. For instance, I heard the messiah cannot appear until every man on Earth is righteous? That could never happen, therefore, the messiah can never appear! They are trapped forever in a religion of endless waiting.
Later, the person of Jesus became combined with Babylonian Paganism imagining him into a physical god (see any encyclopedia) while the fact that he told us OTHERS would come is completely ignored (Mark 8:38). Who can ever measure up to an actual physical Son of an actual physical god? Some 900 foot Jesus has to appear in the physical sky now before any Christian will believe!
Lastly, Muhammad was the last prophet, the “Seal of the Prophets” Yes, he was the last prophet…to prophesy of the coming of God’s Kingdom, not the last prophet period.
Each religion over time seems to slowly trap itself in unauthorized traditions and teachings that make it impossible for the people of that religion to ever move on to the next weigh-point God has intended.
It’s like everyone has a certain type of litmus paper that reacts a certain way to certain types of information. The problem is, where do we get good litmus paper? I would say it comes from prayer and studying authentic religious scripture.
Baha’u’llah on Over-Attention
“As they gradually strayed from the path of their Ideal Leader and Master, as they turned away from the Light of God and corrupted the principle of His Divine unity, and as they increasingly centered their attention upon them who were only the revealers of the potency of His Word, their power was turned into weakness, their glory into shame, their courage into fear.”
Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 69
Conclusion
The world today is quite lost but I believe it will eventually come back around to giving religion another chance and people will find the most up-to-date guidance for our time. People will have to identify and walk around the entrapping and unauthorized teachings of their particular religion or philosophy.
I believe prophecy from authentic religions is the key as it must have been provided to us for a reason. For example, Jesus physically fulfilled ancient prophecies from the Old Testament as far as his name, his address, his mission, and the date he would arrive. Baha’u’llah also fulfilled prophecies from the Bible for his name, his address, his mission and the time of his arrival. These proofs for Jesus and Baha’u’llah are provided in other posts.
People should also know about Babylonian paganism so if there is a hint of it in their belief system, they can root it out and keep to believing what the actual scriptures say about things. For instance, the Bible says point blank that Jesus is the Son of God ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT and the son of David ACCORDING TO THE FLESH (Rom. 1:3,4). Why is it then believed that Jesus is the flesh and blood son of God? Muhammad tried to straighten the Christians out on that one. The infiltration of paganism into Christianity is covered towards the end in the post about the proofs for Jesus.
Bible Quotes
Mark 8:38:
“For whoever should be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; also the Son of man shall be ashamed of him, when he should come in the glory of the Father (Baha’u’llah) with the holy messengers.” -Smith’s Literal Translation
Romans 1:2-4:
“…the gospel He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God.…”
